Protected premises with a new look

One of Denmark's oldest shipping businesses, Svane Shipping, sought a total renovation of the company’s premises at the protected harbour buildings in Kolding. The new office interior had to have respect for the old building and had to focus on new office standards, consumption patterns and future growth targets for the company. With the Kolding company Penatos in charge of the interior design, the choice of furniture was Dencon, delivered by Haubjerg Indretning.

Synergy between old and new

The office interior of the nearly 100-year-old shipping business needed a touch-up. The dim, dark oak furniture was to be replaced with furniture that would reflect the company's goals for the future.

During the planning and execution phases of the renovation, Svane Shipping focused on two parameters in particular: The office must be right, beautiful and inviting, but it must also embrace the protected half-timber buildings that form the base of the company.

“Flexibility and streamlining in the composition of the furniture were very important to us. No matter which size or model is chosen from Dencon, it fits together,” says Jannie Grotkorp Frandsen from Svane Shipping

Desks

Developed with people in mind and with quality throughout, Dencon desks have improved ergonomics at Svane shipping.

Counters

The building interior of Svane Shipping has made it difficult to bring the private offices and customer reception into the same room. Dencon's counter has created a synergy between these two.

Cabinets

With new storage solutions like cabinets with drawers and pull-out shelves form Dencon, Svane Shipping has gained a better overview of its work tasks.

More space in the same room

The main problem in the old office interior was a lack of space; tight table space and stacks of paper around computers. With Dencon cabinets and shelves, the organisation and overview are at the forefront. Work processes and tasks are optimised with a maximum focus on putting the limited space to use.

Keeping the customer reception and workstations in the same room meant that there would be requirements on the furniture and the interior for the employees to have an efficient workday. They had to be both presentable and inviting, while still spacious and sheltered. Dencon's shelves have united these goals and now yield a presentable separation.

Part of the Danish design heritage

Dencon upholds traditional Danish design values deep in its soul. Our design is democratic, it focuses on harmony and the person who will use our furniture.

It’s a differing approach

The person in focus means that we take the body and its functions into consideration. We do this because we know that moving the body affects well-being, which has a positive impact on your workday.

Made in Denmark since 1964

After more than 50 years on the market, Dencon is shaped by Danish traditions of craftsmanship and design. Most of our furniture is produced at our factory in Denmark, by craftsmen who have a sense for quality in all respects.
