Back to get inspired Case study for Stema Shipping in Aabenraa

From old barracks to a modern workplace

Out with the blue furniture and in with new furniture with ergonomic designs. To get the best out of the company’s new surroundings in Aabenraa, Stema Shipping invested in a better workplace for its employees with furniture from Dencon.

Ready for a new age

Stema Shipping is a part of Mibau Stema Group – one of Northern Europe’s biggest suppliers of mineral construction materials. The company was previously based in an older barracks, but moved last year to a new and modern office building in Aabenraa. Here, it was time to improve the office interior and, among other things, replace the old, blue barracks furniture with new and more functional furniture.

This way, with the aid of Haubjerg Indretning in Kolding, Stema Shipping could move into its brand-new surroundings in June 2020.

A better working environment

The transformation required a larger delivery of furniture – everything from lounge, conference, and cafeteria furniture to special furniture delivered by Dencon, says Michael Tønder Christiansen, Proposal & Project Manager from Stema Shipping.

The new furniture – the beautiful materials and top comfort – have had a positive influence on their everyday life:

“It has given better cooperation between all departments, and it has helped improve the working environment for us employees,” says Michael Tønder Christiansen.

Everything for the office

Suitable tables, chairs and partitions from Dencon helped improve the working environment at Stema Shipping.

Furniture for every room

Stema Shipping received furniture for the entire office, including the lounge area, cafeteria, and conference room. Dencon's furniture created cohesion in the entire workplace.

Special furniture

Special requirements at the board’s office were achieved using special furniture from Dencon. The furniture made it possible to utilise the space at Stema Shipping to its full potential.

Happy customers

When you move from a barracks to a modern office building, a lot of tasks pop up. It was viewed as important to replace the blue furniture, so that the office interior could properly fit in with the new building’s modern look.

“It was important to us that there would be an easy solution – and that we could buy it all in one package,”

Michael Tønder Christiansen says, adding:

“During the moving process, it was a plus that Dencon could offer a flexible solution, so that we could wait with having the furniture delivered until we were ready. We’re happy customers,” he concludes.

Part of the Danish design heritage

Dencon upholds traditional Danish design values deep in its soul. Our design is democratic, it focuses on harmony and the person who will use our furniture.

It’s a differing approach

The person in focus means that we take the body and its functions into consideration. We do this because we know that moving the body affects well-being, which has a positive impact on your workday.

Made in Denmark since 1964

After more than 50 years on the market, Dencon is shaped by Danish traditions of craftsmanship and design. Most of our furniture is produced at our factory in Denmark, by craftsmen who have a sense for quality in all respects.
