Dencon’s design philosophy is that every choice is made with the environment in mind. We take our share and responsibility in taking care of everyone’s home - the earth. At Dencon, environmental awareness is not just something we say. We have been ISO 14001 certified since 2002 and since then have also become certified according to both the FSC and EU Ecolabel.
The fact is, we don't only care about our furniture looking good and being functional, we also care about how they have been produced and we take the best possible care of our shared earth. Openness and a constructive dialogue are important values for us. Therefore our corporate environment policy and environmental accounting policies are, of course, published.
We stand out from the majority of other companies given that all our products are made from FSC-certified materials. FSC stands for the Forest Stewardship Council® and is an international non-profit organisation and a labelling scheme for wood and paper, which provides a guarantee that the product is produced under responsible and climate-conscious conditions.
We ensure that our products are made from FSC-certified materials by checking every single confirmed order. In this way, it can be documented that every single dowel and every single peg is FSC-certified. This also means that every single item can be traced.
The certification ensures that the wood and paper come from sustainable forestry where more trees than what the forest can manage to reproduce itself are not felled. In addition, FSC means security in the knowledge that animals and plant life are being protected against eradication and that the people who work in the forest are given an education, safety equipment and proper wages. Furthermore, FSC contributes to at least 14 of the 17 global goals.

Dencon is certified according to ISO 14001. This ensures that we have an environmental management system in place to provide quick and simple documentation confirming we are familiar with the environmental impact resulting from our manufacturing methods and our products themselves. Plus, this system also ensures that we continue working on reducing our environmental impact.
Our goal remains for our production methods and products to provide the smallest environmental impact possible. We believe that openness and a constructive dialogue are important values. Therefore our corporate environment policy and environmental accounting policies, etc. are published.
When we produce and sell furniture, we don’t just think about the people who work every day in an office environment from Dencon. We think about everyone in the entire process from when the tree is felled until the furniture is delivered to the customer. This is because this is the absolutely right thing to do.
Therefore, we have an attitude towards the environment and CSR in a broad sense. For example, this means we ensure that there is a proper working environment - when the tree is being felled and processed and when the furniture is being produced and that throughout the process, the employees have access to the correct safety equipment. At the same time, we also have an attitude towards education, for example, and the number of women in the workplace - because it is only fair.
